Appboy expands global footprint to London

US-based Appboy, a global leader in customer relationship technology for mobile-first marketers, has announced further expansion into EMEA with a new office in London and the appointment of Vice President and General Manager, Daniel Head. Appboy’s business has been thriving in EMEA for four years, and the addition of Head as the regional leader will only deepen their ability to provide localized service and support to their existing customers. As General Manager, Head will be responsible for ensuring customer success and growing revenue through a cross-functional team covering solution delivery, business development, solution engineering, marketing, and partnerships.
“Appboy is committed to growing our presence in the EMEA region, where some of our most strategic customers are based,” said Myles Kleeger, Chief Revenue Officer at Appboy. “The opening of our London office will allow us to support our existing customers even more effectively than we do today, while also enabling us to expand further into the region than otherwise would be possible. Dan is the perfect choice to build and lead this team with his tremendous experience across both enterprise IT and marketing, and his deep customer relationships in the EMEA region.”
Head joins Appboy from Salesforce, and brings over 20 years of Enterprise IT and digital marketing technology sales leadership to the executive team. Head began his career with manufacturing and distribution systems such as ERP, APS, SCM and shop-floor data capture before moving to the US to lead a global venture with SAP, connecting global subsidiaries with headquarters. Following an EMEA leadership role at Infor with responsibility for Epiphany CRM, Head completed a four-year tenure at Salesforce that spanned $3.5 billion of acquisitions including Radian6, Buddy Media, ExactTarget, and the creation of Marketing Cloud. His breadth of technology expertise and vast knowledge of the EMEA region will help Appboy to better serve its clients’ needs and improve their customers’ experiences.
As leaders in mobile-first CRM and multichannel automation technology, the company touts more than 1.6 billion unique customer profiles across their global customer base, with over 100 billion real time events processed through their platform each month. That data is used to power billions of personalized messages each and every month across push, in-app, in-browser, email, wearables, and other emerging platforms. The company’s EMEA-based clients range from leading companies such as Bauer Media, Dailymotion, Delivery Hero and flaregames to Momondo, Opera, Plain Vanilla Games, SoundCloud, and Wallapop, among others.
“With a global business model, we required a mobile marketing partner that understood the unique differences of the markets we serve,” said Sean D’Arcy at Opera. “As a global company themselves, Appboy’s technology has helped us enhance our customer engagement and we are looking forward to having their thought leadership and expertise even closer.”
“Delivery Hero has leveraged Appboy’s robust technology for multi-channel messaging in our apps across more than 20 countries around the globe,” says Igor Lubawinski, VP of CRM Delivery Hero. “Their ability to help us communicate with each individual customer in a culturally relevant way country-by-country has been an incredible value add to our business at every stage of our lifecycle marketing. We are excited about Appboy’s new local presence; this is great news for marketers in the EMEA region.”
